Facial Emotion Recognition Test (FEIT)

A neuropsychological technique designed to assess a person’s ability to recognize and name basic emotions by facial expressions. Participants are presented with photographs of faces expressing emotions such as joy, sadness, anger, fear, surprise, and disgust, and are asked to identify each emotion. The test is used in research and clinical practice to assess social cognition and emotional processing, especially in schizophrenia, autism spectrum disorders, traumatic brain injuries, and some neurodegenerative diseases.
