Family Resilience

the ability of the family to overcome life’s difficulties, resist stress and recover, strengthening the integrity of the family and the well-being of each of its members. According to one of the models, a family with resilience must meet the following criteria:
1) Stress and difficulties are an expected stage in the life cycle of family development;
2) Possess the strength and competencies necessary to protect the integrity of the family and recover from expected and unexpected stressors;
3) Receive support from the network of social relations that have developed in the external community;
4) Seek and affirm a view of the situation that gives the family meaning, purpose, and overall perspective.
Some factors that affect the resilience of the family are: internal readiness for rapid mobilization and restructuring, the ability to ask for and receive support from other people, etc.
