Fixation amnesia

A type of amnesia characterized by a sharp weakening or lack of the ability to remember, record current events (hypoproduction). In this regard, the memory of current, recent events weakens or is lost, but the ability to fully recall previously acquired experience, facts, and experiences is preserved. The inability to record current events and facts leads to the inability to orient oneself in place and time (amnestic disorientation).
