French Aphasia Screening Test (FAST)
A brief technique designed to detect speech disorders after a stroke or other brain damage. It assesses four main areas: Speech Comprehension, Oral Expression, Reading, and Writing. The test is quick (usually 10 minutes) and requires a minimal set of materials, making it convenient for use in hospitals and rehabilitation centers. Although FAST does not provide a detailed diagnosis of aphasia, it does help determine whether a more complete examination of speech functions is required.
