Gnosis

(from the Greek gnosis – cognition, knowledge) is the ability to cognize or recognize the surrounding world, in particular, various objects of the surrounding world, using information from various cortical analyzers. At every moment of our life, analyzer systems provide the brain with information about the state of the environment, about objects, sounds, smells around us, about the position of our body in space, which gives us the opportunity to adequately perceive ourselves in relation to the world around us and correctly respond to all changes taking place around us. Recognition is a complex function of individual analyzers, it is developed in the process of individual experience (like conditioned reflexes), and the information received is consolidated (memory function).
