Goals of Pediatric Neuropsychological Diagnostics
consist in creating a comprehensive framework for understanding the neuropsychological development of the child and accurately identifying his needs for effective support and management of his developmental trajectory. This type of diagnosis, first of all, is aimed at determining the level of development of the main mental functions (attention, memory, speech, thinking, fine and gross motor skills) and revealing the nature of the integration of the nervous system and everyday practical skills. It also aims to identify early any potential developmental disorders or delays, such as learning difficulties, autism spectrum disorders, attention problems, or delays in speech and motor development. This allows for early intervention and reduces the severity of problems in the future. Diagnostics also guides the development of therapeutic and educational programs that are appropriate to the characteristics and special needs of the child, which increases the chances of success of the therapeutic and educational process. In addition, the diagnosis helps to assess the child’s ability to learn and adapt to the school and social environment, determining the level of support needed in the classroom or at home. Finally, diagnostics is a crucial tool for evaluating the effectiveness of interventions after the implementation of therapeutic or educational programs, as it provides accurate data to help measure the degree of improvement and adjust plans to achieve the best results for child development and neuropsychological integration.
