It is advisable to distinguish between medical, psychological, and social indications, which can be absolute or relative. In addition, in medicine, it is customary to talk about vital indications.
1) Absolute indications are indications that require the unconditional implementation of this therapeutic (diagnostic, rehabilitation) measure.
2) Relative indications are indications that do not exclude the possibility of exchanging this therapeutic (diagnostic, rehabilitation) measure for another.
3) Vital indications are indications that require immediate implementation of this therapeutic measure due to the presence of an immediate threat to human life.
