Interpretative delusions (delusions of interpretation)

systematized delusions, which are based on erroneous interpretations, “crooked logic”, i.e. paralogical thinking. When constructing an interpretive delusion, the patient relies on real facts and events, but interprets and interprets them selectively, tendentiously – he takes only what reinforces his ideas and contributes to their further development, and ignores or rejects all counterarguments. Interpretative delusions are a system of successive constructions, which in the course of its development expands more and more, becomes more complex and detailed. Usually, interpretative delusions are monothematic, i.e. one plot develops in it, most often either the ideas of persecution or greatness.
