Intrapartum period (period of childbirth)
The stage of the child’s development, which lasts from the moment of the appearance of regular labor contractions to the moment of ligation of the umbilical cord. This period is considered critical, since adverse factors (hypoxia, injuries) affect the further development of the child. Normally, the intrapartum period lasts from 2-4 hours to 15-18 hours.
