Level B in N.A. Bershtein’s theory of motion organization (synergy level)
It is responsible for the coordination of movements of individual parts of the body: for coordinated movements of the body, rhythmic and cyclic movements, for the automation of motor skills, performs internal coordination of complex movements, receives information about the relative position and movement of body parts, emotional movements of the face. The anatomical substrate of the level is the subcortical nuclei (optic tubercles (thalami optici) and pale nuclei (globi pallid, pallida).
