Localization of speech
distribution of functions related to the production and understanding of speech within the brain. Usually, the main areas are Wernicke’s area, located in the superior temporal lobe of the left hemisphere, and Broca’s area, located in the inferior frontal gyrus. Damage to these areas leads to the development of aphasia, expressed in impaired speech understanding or difficulty in pronunciation. The analysis of localization patterns is important for the diagnosis and rehabilitation of patients with speech disorders.
