Medical Perinatal Psychology
A section of perinatal psychology that studies the features of the dynamics of psychological and mental development of the “mother-child” system, the patterns of the earliest stages in the conditions of pathology of pregnancy, childbirth, developmental deviations at the early stages of ontogenesis, and also deals with the problem of relationships between medical workers of obstetric and gynecological institutions and patients and their relatives. Medical perinatal psychology also includes issues of providing psychological assistance to women, their husbands and relatives in the event of involuntary termination of pregnancy, death of a child in childbirth, birth of a child with congenital pathology.
