Milton Rokeach Value Survey (RVS)
One of the most common ways to study the value-semantic sphere of a person, based on a direct ranking of the list of values. Value here is understood as a kind of stable belief that a certain goal or way of existence is preferable to another. Rokeach distinguishes two classes of values: terminal (values-goals) and instrumental (values-means).
The diagnostic method is that you are offered two lists of 18 values (terminal and instrumental). Your task is to rank each list so that each value will have its own number: from 1 (the most significant) to 18 (the least significant). The technique is not a test. The result of the ranking is a ranked list of values, no interpretation is given. It is suggested to draw conclusions on your own, or contact a specialist.
