Narcissism

a personality trait characterized by excessive self-love and self-evaluation – grandiosity – which in most cases does not correspond to reality. Subclinical narcissism is included in the structure of the Dark Triad (see Dark Triad in Chapter 1.7. Key Psychological Concepts in Personality Psychology). In addition to grandiosity and self-admiration, narcissism is characterized by pride and a reduced level of empathy. Individuals with a high level of narcissism also demonstrate a striving for dominance and superiority.
