Neonatal period (neonatal period)
The period of life of a newborn from birth to 28 days inclusive. This is the time of intense adaptation of the child to the sharply changed conditions of the environment. Some features of the neonatal period:
1) The beginning of pulmonary breathing;
2) Functioning of the pulmonary circulation;
3) Changes in energy metabolism and thermoregulation;
4) Enteral nutrition;
5) Intensive development of analyzers (first of all, visual);
6) The beginning of the development of coordination of movements;
7) Formation of conditioned reflexes.
