Network Disinhibition Effect
the weakening of psychological barriers that limit the release of hidden feelings and needs, which causes people to behave online in ways they would not normally do in real life. This weakening depends on many factors, including: anonymity, invisibility, asynchrony, minimization of responsibility, as well as personal qualities of the user. The effect of disinhibition was analyzed by the American psychologist John Suler.
