Neuromotor aphasia
A disorder of pre-formed speech function, in which a person partially or completely loses the ability to convey thoughts with words, write down thoughts and/or understand speech addressed to him/her:
1) It occurs as a result of damage to the nerve fibers connecting Broca’s and Wernicke’s areas, which makes it difficult to transmit information between speech production and its understanding.
2) The child can understand and reproduce speech, but has difficulty repeating words or sentences accurately and can switch between words or syllables. This makes it difficult to learn the language and increases the need for support during learning.
3) Therapeutic interventions – repetition exercise programs, the use of visual and auditory support, and teaching the child self-correction strategies.
