A person tests reality (has criticality, i.e. is aware of his feelings, understands where he is, can determine the boundaries of his responsibility, etc.), has higher mental defenses, has an integral identity (feels whole, is able to separate internal experience from external objects and stimuli). Internal psychological conflicts are more often of an internal nature, experienced without losing contact with reality.
