A logotherapeutic term that denotes a type of neurosis that arises from existential problems. Among these problems, the collapse of the will to meaning (frustration of the desire for meaning) plays an important role. Noogenic neuroses originate not in the psychological, but rather in the “noological” (from the Greek noos – mind) space of human existence.
