A special type of people who don’t fit into the usual “introvert-extrovert” dichotomy. Otroverts do not shy away from society, but at the same time they are cautious about mass group activities. The term was introduced in 2025 by New York psychiatrist Dr. Rami Kaminsky, this concept immediately became very popular. Teenagers don’t enjoy crowds like extroverts, but they don’t withdraw into themselves like introverts either. They are characterized by emotional freedom and the ability to be in contact, keeping a distance. The characteristic features of adolescents are considered to be a tendency to original thinking and independent judgments; craving for deep connections, not superficial acquaintances; the choice of authenticity instead of conformity; a slight distrust of loud “interest clubs” and mass movements.
