Pediatric neuropsychological diagnostic procedures
systematic, structured stages aimed at collecting and analyzing the information necessary for a comprehensive and accurate assessment of the child’s neuropsychological development. The process begins with the collection of primary data, including detailed interviews with parents, a study of the child’s medical and developmental history, as well as observation of daily behavior. This allows you to obtain accurate initial information about the trajectory of the child’s development and environmental conditions. This is followed by a general neurological evaluation, including an examination of sensory, motor, reflex and balance functions, to determine the integrity of the neurological structure and its main functions. A cognitive-psychometric assessment is then carried out using standardized tests measuring intelligence, attention, memory, reasoning, and problem-solving ability to determine the level of cognitive psychomotor function associated with neurodevelopment. Diagnosis also includes emotional and social assessment, carried out by monitoring emotions, emotional regulation, social interaction and cooperative play patterns, which allows for an accurate assessment of the child’s ability to social and emotional adaptation. After collecting data, a comprehensive analysis of the results is carried out, linking neurological functions with psychological behavior, which helps to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the child. In conclusion, recommendations are given, individual correction programs are developed that meet the needs of the child, as well as a plan for monitoring further development and ensuring the effectiveness of the proposed therapeutic and educational strategies.
