Peripheral agraphia
A form of acquired writing disorder that occurs due to a deficit in motor processes involved in writing rather than language or cognitive processing. Patients with peripheral agraphia have difficulty with the fine motor skills needed for writing, such as holding a pen, forming letters, or writing legibility. The condition is usually associated with damage to the motor cortex or subcortical areas responsible for motor execution and coordination, often after a stroke or traumatic brain injury.
