Political absenteeism

evasion of voters from participation in elections and referendums. In the narrow sense, it is the refusal of persons who have an active electoral right to register as voters or to appear at the polling station on voting day. In a broad sense, absentees also include those voters who came to the polling station, but did not express their opinion. There are several types of political absenteeism:
1) Passive absenteeism. It is characterized by a low level of political culture and legal awareness of the population, which forms indifference to politics and alienation from the activities of the political sphere.
2) Active absenteeism. It is the result of a conscious decision to refuse to participate in political life and a conscious manifestation of disinterest in it, which are dictated by various motives.
