Political intolerance

a fundamental attitude or position that is expressed in the unwillingness to recognize, tolerate and grant equal political rights (such as freedom of speech, assembly, the right to elect and be elected) to groups or individuals who adhere to different political, ideological or religious views. It is also manifested in the willingness to restrict civil liberties for those whose ideas are considered hostile or erroneous. Political instability destroys the foundations of pluralistic democracy, leads to polarization of society, stifles constructive discussion, and is a breeding ground for authoritarianism and political violence.
