Postpartum depression (postnatal depressive disorder)

a form of depressive disorder that develops during pregnancy and in the first period after childbirth. It is the most common complication associated with childbirth. Symptoms can include emotional and behavioral changes (despair, sadness, crying attacks, anxiety, irritability, feelings of isolation, thoughts of self-harm or suicide, thoughts of harming the infant), as well as somatic manifestations (nausea, changes in sleep and eating patterns).
