A severe mental disorder that develops in women in the first weeks or months after childbirth. It is characterized by severe disorders of thinking, perception and behavior. The key sign is the presence of hallucinations and delusions. Emotional disturbances and sleep disorders may also be observed. In ICD-10, this condition is classified under the code F53.1.
