Primary needs according to Murray

urgent needs laid down by nature. They are associated with a biological process and arise in response to certain stimuli or events that push the organism to a certain result (“positive” or “negative”). Examples of primary needs:
1) oxygen demand;
2) the need for food;
3) the need for water.
Murray believed that primary needs are inherent in everyone, but each person strives to satisfy them to a certain level.
