Psychodiagnostics
a branch of psychology that develops theories, principles, and tools for the assessment and measurement of individual psychological characteristics of a person (such as mental states, personality traits, etc.). Psychodiagnostic methods can be strictly formalized (tests, questionnaires, certain projective techniques, psychophysiological methods) or less formalized (observations, interviews and conversations, analysis of activity products).
