Psychological rehabilitation programs for new students

are integrated intervention systems implemented at the beginning of student enrollment in a new academic phase (e.g., transition from kindergarten to elementary school, middle school to high school, or school to university). They are aimed at supporting the psychological, social and educational adaptation of students to new changes in the environment and education. These programs include a range of interactive activities, counseling sessions, and psychological support, as well as exposing students to new educational and cultural contexts. The educational institution system, facilities, academic and behavioural systems also focus on the development of basic personal and social skills such as communication, stress management and self-regulation. These programs help reduce feelings of anxiety and fear of the unknown and increase students’ sense of security and belonging, leads to improved academic engagement and motivation and reduces dropout or failure rates.
