Psychological tension in the psychology of sports
a state of internal mobilization that arises when the situation is of high importance and resources are limited. It can both increase efficiency and hinder the optimal execution of the task. Psychological stress in sports is one of the most important factors that ensure the effectiveness of the training process. In training, tension is associated with the process of activity, with the need to perform an ever-increasing physical load. In the conditions of competition, tension is supplemented by the desire to achieve a certain result. Therefore, mental tension in training is called processual, and in competition – effective.
