Psychometric Intelligence

These are cognitive capabilities that are measured by intelligence tests (IQ tests). Different approaches are used in the psychometric definition of intelligence: it is possible to assess general, “generalized” intelligence or to distinguish various abilities (figurative, verbal, etc.). Psychometric intelligence depends on biological intelligence and on environmental characteristics: family upbringing, education, cultural factors, or socioeconomic status.
