Psychosocial model of rehabilitation
It has been developed abroad in working with mentally ill people, and is also used in somatic practice. According to this concept, psychosocial and biological methods of influence should be used in unity in treatment and rehabilitation. Rehabilitation efforts are directed at the body, the individual, and society. A polyprofessional team participates in the work. Specialists rely not on clinical characteristics, but on the preserved aspects of the personality, personal capabilities, and painful symptoms are not emphasized and the prognosis is built as favorable and encouraging as possible. Assistance is provided outside of inpatient institutions, in a natural environment, with the involvement of social networks. Rehabilitants are perceived and learn to be full-fledged partners in the rehabilitation process, taking an active part in the analysis of their problems, responsible for solving them, and are ready to take risks in overcoming life difficulties.
