Psychotherapeutic (psychological) function of a rehabilitation specialist
the activity of a rehabilitation specialist aimed at removing the unfavorable state of a person with a disability (apathy, anger, irritability, etc.), achieving mental balance, reducing mental intensity (hyperactivity or indifference) to achieve the best rehabilitation effect and for the sake of his personal development. In contrast to the activity of a psychotherapist, this activity can have the following varieties:
1) direct impact on the personality, when, by inducing the necessary state, the specialist determines the formation of a value attitude and in subsequent correction and rehabilitation cultivates certain activities of a person with a disability;
2) personal-mediated psychotherapeutic influence – through parents, other patients and specialists, etc., by including a third subject with a person with a disability in the system of relationships;
3) object-mediated influence – through leisure, socio-cultural rehabilitation, formation or restoration of skills, etc.
