Raven’s progressive matrices
One of the most well-known and popular methods of assessing mental development. The theoretical basis is the model of intelligence assessment by C. Spearman. When performing the test, such cognitive processes as perception (visual analysis and synthesis), attention (stability of attention, distribution, general productivity, performance, switching) and imaginative thinking are actualized. Raven’s matrices can be used on samples of subjects with any linguistic composition and socio-cultural background, with any level of speech development, aged from 4.5 to 65 years.
