Rehabilitation of family members of a person with a disability
helping family members to get out of a state of chronic psychological stress, because the presence of a person with a disability in the family, especially those suffering from severe motor pathology with limited self-care, leads to various social and psychological phenomena within the family, which do not always have a favorable effect on both the family and the person with a disability. The solution to this problem includes:
1) explaining to relatives the cause of the pathology, which makes it possible to largely remove personal guilt from parents at the birth of a child with a disability;
2) showing the prospect of overcoming the pathology and the possibility of achieving a positive result;
3) disclosure of the place and role of the immediate environment in the effectiveness of rehabilitation of a person with disabilities;
4) development of methods for diagnosing the condition of a family with a relative with a disability;
5) determination of the basic needs of the family and possible prospects for the rehabilitation of the family;
6) development of a program for the rehabilitation of the family and the implementation of this program;
7) informing about the rights and obligations of parents with a child with disabilities.
