Reproductive pressure
A form of psychological coercion in which a person (more often a woman) is directly or indirectly influenced to force him/her to give birth to a child, to make a certain reproductive decision (for example, to keep or terminate the pregnancy) or to meet social expectations associated with parenthood. Sources of pressure can be a partner, family, society, cultural or religious norms. The consequences of reproductive pressure are: stress, increased anxiety, internal conflict, making unwanted decisions regarding the reproductive sphere, as well as deterioration of mental and physical health.
