Resilience in Salvador Maddi’s Concept

an integral personality trait that helps a person successfully overcome life difficulties and stressful situations, while maintaining internal stability and efficiency of activity. Resilience has three key components:
1) Commitment – active and meaningful participation in life and activities, enjoyment and meaning in everyday activities.
2) Control – belief in one’s ability to influence the events and results of one’s own life.
3) Challenge – perceiving changes and stressful situations not as a threat, but as an opportunity for development and growth.
These three components form the psychological “vitality” of the personality, allowing not only to endure stress, but also to use it for personal growth and successful functioning in difficult conditions.
