Resocialization
1) Social rehabilitation in relation to persons with mental illnesses. The following stages of resocialization are distinguished: restorative therapy aimed at preventing disorders; readaptation – adaptation of the patient to environmental conditions (high or low level of adaptation); rehabilitation is the restoration of the patient’s social ties, his individual and social value.
2) The process of re-socialization of persons with disabilities, carried out on the condition that the knowledge and skills acquired earlier in the course of socialization do not contribute to social adaptation or cause socially unacceptable behavior. Resocialization implies the deconstruction of previously formed stereotypes of behavior and their replacement with new, more functional and socially acceptable ones.
3) Restoration of the ability to adequately perform certain social roles lost for any reason (serious illness).
