Revitalization complex

a special emotional and motor reaction of a child addressed to an adult. The term was introduced in the 20s of the XX century by N. M. Shchelovanov. The animation complex includes four main components:
1) Freezing and visual concentration – a long, close look at an adult;
2) A smile expressing the joyful emotions of the child;
3) Motor animation – head movements, throwing up arms and legs, bending the back, etc.;
4) Vocalizations – cries (loud abrupt vowel sounds), humming (quiet short sounds like “kh”, “gk”, etc.), cooing (long sounds reminiscent of birdsong).
All these components are observed in the behavior of the infant at the same time.
