It is possible to play the role of a supervisor-teacher, who actually carries out direct instruction of the supervisor, for example, offers and teaches specific methods of work; the role of the supervisor-consultant, in which the supervisor uses creative discussions in the process of supervision, prompting the supervisor to look for new options for working with the case; the role of a supervisor-facilitator, whose work is aimed at emotional support and instilling confidence in the supervisor; the role of the supervisor-expert, which involves evaluating the work of the supervisor as a whole. It is assumed that novice consultants are more likely to expect the role of teacher and facilitator from the supervisor. The coincidence of the supervisor’s expectations from the role of the supervisor and the real role of the supervisor largely ensures the effectiveness of the supervision process.
