Sandra Bem Sex Role Inventory (BSRI)

a method for determining the “gender typification” of a person, developed by the American psychologist Sandra Bem. The scale is based on the theory of androgyny, according to which femininity and masculinity are not opposite poles, but rather independent constructs. Accordingly, each person can have both feminine and masculine characteristics at the same time, in addition, it was assumed that the effectiveness of the functioning of a person in any field of activity depends on the ability to show both feminine and masculine qualities adequately arising situations.
The questionnaire has been criticized more than once in the last century, including its validity in modern conditions, and nevertheless, it is the most frequently used method in gender studies.
