Self-transcendence

a subjective property of a person that provides a way out of the limits of the real (conscious) self, comprehension of one’s own capabilities, their awareness and embodiment in objective reality (activity, behavior, social relations). The concept of self-transcendence, according to Frankl, is closely related to the search for meaningful goals and objectives. It is to the extent that a person goes beyond the framework of his “I” that he fulfills himself as a person – in relation to creativity, to love, to life in general. Self-transcendence reflects the ability to expand one’s boundaries and focus on perspectives, activities, and goals outside oneself, without denying the value of being in the present. It is an indicator of personal maturity and at the same time a condition for its achievement, and also acts as a mechanism for achieving self-actualization, self-development, self-realization, acme by the subject.
