Semantic barrier

mutual misunderstanding between people that arises during communication as a consequence of the fact that the participants in communication attribute different meanings to the same events and see different motivations in their depth. The mismatch of the meanings of statements, requests, orders, etc., creates an obstacle to the development of interaction between partners. Semantic barriers are especially pronounced in the relationship between adults and children, when the child, even understanding the correctness of the adult’s demands, does not accept them if they ignore his views, values, and the system of his personal meanings.
