It is the presence of differences in mental qualities and processes in representatives of different sexes.

The term was introduced in 1970 by Soviet academician N.A. Tisch to identify many mental differences in contrast to the term “sexual dimorphism” (Günther, 1853), which refers to morphological differences between the sexes.
