Social and environmental rehabilitation
includes social and environmental orientation, social and environmental education, social and environmental adaptation.
1) social and environmental orientation – orientation of a patient and a person with a disability in the environment; this includes the establishment of relationships with people, acquaintance with the territory, socially significant objects located on it;
2) social and environmental education – the process of teaching an individual the skills of using the environment, the skills of moving in the environment, the use of transport, the ability to independently purchase products and things, visit public places, places of leisure; as well as social independence education (the ability to live independently, manage money, enjoy civil rights, participate in public activities);
3) social and environmental adaptation is the process and result of the subject’s adaptation to objects of life activity and mastering the skills of independent life support and the use of civil rights. Social and environmental adaptation is greatly facilitated by the adaptation of the urban environment corresponding to the needs of a person with disabilities, the elimination of architectural and construction barriers for persons with disabilities.
