Societal behavior resulting from the polarization of values
those significant effects that manifest themselves as a result of the polarization of values in society:
1) Weakening of democratic dialogue: debates become emotionally saturated and are accompanied by premature rejection of opponents’ arguments.
2) Increased bias and exclusion: People resort to a limited number of media outlets and groups that share their values.
3) Escalation of social and political tensions: disagreements are perceived as existential conflicts that do not tolerate compromise.
4) Fragmentation of national or social identity: each “camp” seeks to promote its own values to the detriment of common values that unite people.
