Speech and Communication Disorder Syndrome (IBS)
A developmental condition characterized by the absence or significant delay in the development of speech, which makes it difficult for the child to express thoughts and feelings, as well as to understand language symbols and social cues. This disorder affects the child’s ability to communicate effectively with others and participate in educational and social activities. IBS is caused by delayed or impaired development of neurological structures associated with speech and communication abilities. The problem may be exacerbated by a lack of early speech stimulation or inadequate environmental influences. Early intervention includes language and communication development programmes aimed at improving verbal and non-verbal expression and enabling the child to participate in effective social interaction and learning.
