Stages of professional development

4) Professional adaptation (23-27 years old): mastering a new social role, experience of independent performance of professional activities, professionally important qualities;
5) Primary professionalization (28-35 years old): professional position, integrative professionally significant constellations, individual style of activity – skilled labor;
6) Secondary professionalization (36-45 years old): professional mentality, identification with the professional community, professional mobility, corporateness, flexible style of activity, highly qualified activity;
7) Professional self-actualization (46-65): creative professional activity, mobile integrative psychological new formations, self-projection of one’s activity and career, the top (acme) of professional development;
8) The stage of loss of profession (66-70 years).
Each stage is characterized by specific developmental tasks and neoplasms. The transition between stages can be accompanied by professional crises and require psychological support.
