Subdepression (minor depression)
a depressive state that does not reach the diagnosis of major depression in severity and/or according to the formal diagnostic criteria of ICD-10 – either there are no symptoms necessary for the diagnosis of major depression, or their severity is slightly expressed, there is no significant impairment of vital functions and social functioning. Diagnostic criteria: depressed mood and anhedonia for at least two weeks and any two of the nine criteria for major depression. In other words, a mild non-psychotic form of depression, characterized by a persistent depressed mood, a decrease in activity and interest in everyday life. Symptoms of subdepression can persist for a long time, sometimes unnoticed by a person and his environment.
