Submissive Conformist (Personality Type C)
A personality type characterized by a pronounced tendency toward social submission, identification with the majority, uncritical adherence to rules and expectations, and reliance on the group as the primary source of identity and behavioral standards. Type C is based on blind obedience, which makes it fertile ground for the spread of intolerance and prejudice through imitation and submission, rather than through one’s own initiative. The main personality traits of type C are:
1) Obedience: the willingness to obey orders or follow rules, even if they are unfair or irrational.
2) Conformity: the tendency to obey the majority or the dominant group in order to avoid isolation or social rejection.
3) Lack of critical thinking: A tendency to accept prevailing beliefs and values without question or analysis.
4) The need for social security: a person seeks belonging to a group as a mechanism to reduce anxiety and fear of difference.
5) Indecision and lack of initiative: A person avoids taking independent or opposing positions for fear of losing social recognition.
